Fuessen - Romantic medieval town in Allgau

In a distance of  just 3 km from our Hotel Ruebezahl and Schwangau you will find the small town of Fuessen.

The Fuessen’s medieval town center rises high above the banks of the River Lech and it is located at the end of the Romantic Road. Different historical epochs meet here in a harmonious ensemble, whose unique flair is an invitation to go on journeys of discovery into the past or to take a look around the shops

This city is culturally spoiled with a Festival Hall and Theatre - in which regularly the most different pieces from operas, Operetten, concert and Ballets are presented. Museum and Gallery can be also visited.


Schwangau – charming village & untouched nature


Schwangau is situated on southern Germany's Romantic Road, which runs from Wuerzburg to Fuessen and on the former roman road "via claudia augusta".

Take the Tegelberg Mountain cable car up to an altitude of 1720 m (1,05 miles) in a matter of minutes. Enjoy the unique view from the panorama terrace. It's here that the intrepid hanggliders and paragliders. Kids will love the summer luge (tobbogan)

There are 120 km (80 miles) of hiking trails in Schwangau, its alpine character preserved by the protected mountain world.
