Neuschwanstein Castle

Built between 1869 and 1886, by King Ludwig II of Bavaria.

Opening times:
April 1 to Sept 30 - 8.30 am until 5:30 pm
October 1 to March 31 - 10.00 am until 4:00 pm
Closed : Nov. 1, Dec. 24, 25, 31, Jan. 1 .

Guided tours only, duration approx. 35 min.
Tours involve climbing 165 steps and 181 steps down.
Access by foot, by small bus or by horse drawn carriages from base of hill in Hohenschwangau village. Less able visitors should check first.

Children under 18 accompanied by adults are free.
